1. We believe in God the Father, in Jesus the Son, both Savior and Lord, and in the Holy Spirit, who in-dwells every Christian.
2. We believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God and the standard for our life.

The Greater Birmingham Disciples of Christ (GBDC) is a fellowship of believers totally committed to transforming ourselves, our families, and our community through being true disciples of Christ and loving Him with all of our heart, mind, soul, and strength. Jesus is lord of our lives and by freely surrenderingto Him, we learn to unlock the power of personal discipleship.

When Christ’s church began in the first century there was one church. Jesus was the head of that church and His teaching was the doctrine (Col. 1:18, Acts 2:42). Over the centuries that have ensued, many divergent traditions have developed and Christianity has splintered into approximately 38,000 different, often feuding denominations (this figure was taken from Christianity Today http://christianity.about.com/od/denominations/p/christiantoday.htm).
